Last night at sea
Tonight Thierry Duprey du Vorsent and Erwan Le Roux will be spending their last night at sea in the Transat Jacques Vabre. Tuesday, today, Gitana X was still making good headway towards Salvador de Bahia and should be crossing the finishing line tomorrow around 19h00 (French time).

With a four hour time difference between France and Brazil, Gitana X should be finishing the 5 190 mile long course in the middle of the afternoon Brazil time. In fact, the 15-20 knots SE trade wind is weaker than it was for the first boats to arrive, but it is likely to strengthen this evening. With less than 500 miles to go before reaching Bahia, Thierry Duprey du Vorsent and Erwan Le Roux were making headway on the port tack this afternoon, heading E/SE. They should be gybing this evening for the last time. The blue trimaran should be taking fourth place in the ORMA trimaran class.

Concerning  Gitana 11, the Gitana Team shore crew confirms that the trimaran arrived in Bahia in absolutely perfect condition !
