Domaine du Mont d'Arbois in 6th position at the BPE Trophy
In the ranking at 06:00 pm on Wednesday 28 March, Thierry Duprey du Vorsent lay in 6th place in the BPE Trophy. This spectacular recovery made by Domaine du Mont d'Arbois is partly due to the strategic choice to position the boat on an intermediate route between a more northerly group following the most direct route and another that has adopted a more southerly trajectory in order to go around the anticyclone.
Last night, Domaine du Mont d'Arbois were sailing amind winds averaging 40 knots and today winds were around 30 knots and at times reaching 36. Thierry Duprey du Vorsent is sealed inside the boat but sleep is simply not on the cards, as the fact that he is getting to know Domaine du Mont d'Arbois under such testing conditions only increases the need for vigilance.
In the next 24 hours, Thierry will have to negociate the Açores anticyclone. Domaine du Mont d'Arbois should then be slowed down. The two next days would be determining for the race...
