Leading the fleet of Rolex Fastnet Race
Since leaving Cowes this Sunday 8 August at 11:10 UTC, the crew of the Maxi Edmond de Rothschild has posted a dazzling race start despite the particularly boisterous conditions in the opening miles in the Solent.
With headwinds of over 25 knots and numerous manoeuvres hugging the coast, the 336 entries in the 49th edition of the Rolex Fastnet Race put on quite the show! This evening, Charles Caudrelier and Franck Cammas’ men are leading the way, but they are keeping a cool head given that the upcoming weather is set to further spice up the climb towards the Fastnet lighthouse and above all the downwind sprint for the finish in Cherbourg.
