La « Gitana »
The steam schooner was built at the request of Baronne Adolphe de Rothschild and was the first yacht of the Gitana line. Created to cruise both comfortably and quickly on Léman Lake, Gitana beat the world speed record on water: 20,5 knots or 38 km/h.
Gitana IV
A 27 mt yawl, class I, measured 88'7" carried 2,153 sq ft of sails, participated in all the RORC races and held the Fastnet record for 19 years.
Gitana VI
65-foot sloop that raced many times in the Fastnet, Cowes / Dinard, the Giraglia, the Channel Race and participated brilliantly in various editions of the Marseille Race Week, the Cowes, etc… bringing home numerous victories.
Gitana Sixty
The 8 M J Class that Baron Edmond de Rothschild won the World Championship in 1986, with Philippe Durr at the helm.
Gitana IX
60'Open multihull (1988), acquired in 1998 by the Baron Benjamin de Rothschild, Baron Edmond de Rothschild's son, with an aim of living a first experiment of multihull oceanic races. Gitana IX took part successfully in the Quebec-Saint Malo 2000, newcomer 1h34 after the winner, in spite of a difference in age of more than 10 years. Gitana IX also took part in the Challenge Mondial Assistance (Cherbourg-Tarragone) and in the Transatlantic race Jacques Vabre.
